Advantages: novel shape and excellent picutres

Disadvantages: Dull Story

My son is a huge Bob the builder fan so when I saw this screwdriver book at a car boot he was very excited. He was about One thing I do tend to do with my son is give him the book to have a look through if he throws it down straight away then I don't buy.

The Story is written by Lauryn Silverhardt. It was printed in 2003 and is currently available new on Amazon market place for 48p plus postage.
The one novel thing about this book is that is shaped like a screwdriver. It is a board book with a picture of bob on the front holding a screwdriver.
My son has his own Bob the builder tools and has seen me using a screwdriver often enough to understand what they are used for.

The book is twelve pages long and on each page there is generally one sentence although sometimes two. The pictures are photographic and appear exactly as they normally do on the TV.

This has been a book that has been in the car for a long time as my son likes to look through books while I am driving. This is one book that seems to retain his interest for quite a while. I think that the recognition of the characters helps maintain his interest. Unfortunately his first copy did get ripped. He pulled the books off the spine but as he enjoyed the book so much when I saw another copy at a car boot I bought it. As he is a little older he is less destructive with books and this book is still intact. The book does contain pictures of all the common characters throughout.

The book made it into the house recently and my son does now have the added bonus of hearing the story.
The story is about a busy day that Bob has and unsurprisingly every job he needs to do does require a screwdriver. I do hear Neil Morrissey's voice in my head as I am reading. He does like to finish his day with a cup of tea.

My son is not particularly excited by the story but does love the pictures so I do think the car is the ideal place for this book.

I do think that any little Bob fan would enjoy this book for the pictures and novel shape but if you want a more extensive story then there are much better around
