" Lofty is tall, timid and more than a little nervous, almost everything scares Lofty- including heights, mice, loud noises and Spud, sometimes he is even too scared to lift his crane arm to full height. Lofty isn't very confident and needs encouragement, but he always gets the job done." THAT WASN'T AN EXTRACT THAT WAS ...more

Premium Review Bob The Builder Pocket Library: A breif intro to Bobs gang! .... oh I mean Bob the builder p ... (308 words)

Rating:

This little box set contains 6 board books about 6 of the Bob the builder characters; Scoop, Roley, Muck, Lofty, Benny and Scrambler. The books are not so much stories but more of brief introductions about the characters, for me this was great as I knew 1 or 2 of them but there are so many characters around I get Bob the builder characters mixed up with handy Manny and Fireman Sam muddled with postman Pat! They are ideal for new fans or for children with a short attention span, but for Bob enthusiasts they may be a little boring as they will of course know about the characters already and there are no adventures or funny escapades only very ...  Read the complete review

This set of 6 Bob the BUilder books come packaged in a cardboard casing. They fit snugly so ther eis no fear of losing one although there is also no chance of a little one getting one out. I have to say my sons books are no longer kept in the cardboard casing, partly as he couldn't get them out but also because they are read so much that there is no point. Instead they are kept in his book box. The books in this set are all board books and are are quite small in size, approximately 6x6cm square. Each book is based on one of the Bob the Builder characters, including Muck, Scrambler, Scoop, Benny, Roley and lofty. Unfortunately there is no book that is ...  Read the complete review

Bob The Builder Pocket Library Jack is now 10 months old and completely loves books! I do think however that I like Bob The Builder far more than he does although when I bought these books home with me after an afternoon of shopping he was pretty pleased! They were on offer in Woolworth's for £2.99p and for that money what you are getting is a set of six books each one about a different characte4r from the Bob the Builder Television programme shown on CBeebies. Bob the Builder has been around for a fair few years now and a show that I believe is set to continue for a long time. Paying the price I did I felt was pretty reasonable ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Can we read it?- YES we can! (1096 words)
by - written on 25/04/08 (Very useful, 71 readings)
Rating:

It was my grandson's birthday on the 17th April and so I travelled up to London to celebrate his third birthday. In today's society families have to separate and go where the work takes them, so I only get to visit Jack about four times a year. We do talk on the phone, which is very special since he's so young. But Jack is a clever boy and his parents encourage him to recognise people, places and other things, so he does know me as his "nanny". He does have another "nanny", my son-in-law's mother. I'm not sure how we both became Jack's nanny, instead of Nan, Gran etc. I suspect that Gran or Grannie sounds very old-fashioned. I'd already spent ...  Read the complete review
