Bob The Builder Pocket Library
Jack is now 10 months old and completely loves books! I do think however that I like Bob The Builder far more than he does although when I bought these books home with me after an afternoon of shopping he was pretty pleased!
They were on offer in Woolworth's for £2.99p and for that money what you are getting is a set of six books each one about a different characte4r from the Bob the Builder Television programme shown on CBeebies. Bob the Builder has been around for a fair few years now and a show that I believe is set to continue for a long time. Paying the price I did I felt was pretty reasonable as the RRP is £3.99p, so £1 off.
The six books are housed within a hard sleeve type cover, which keeps them tidy and sits nicely on Jacks bookshelf. The books are all board books making the pages easy to turn for Jacks chubby little fingers and also making the books easy to clean with a damp cloth when Jacks chubby little fingers turn into sticky little fingers!!
The books are on the characters: Muck, Scrambler, Scoop, Benny, Roley and lofty. I was fairly disappointed that there wasn't a book just for Bob but Jack didn't seem to mind!! The books are all different colours and these colours are lovely and bright. Each book has eight pages and the contents of the books are rather more information on each character rather than stories relating to the characters. At this part I was pretty disappointed as I hoped there would be a small story in the book rather than facts but still they are nice little books.
The pictures inside them are great, ever so bright and colourful and they really grab Jacks attention. They books have bold writing in them which is ever so clear and in rather large text so easy to read.
The books are good for fans of the Bob the Builder programme because they make you more aware of all the different sorts of jobs that are done by all the different characters.
All in all I think these books are pretty good. The price is reasonable; they are hard wearing and have some interesting information about the Bob the Builder programme and the characters that appear in it. I think it is a worthwhile purchase for any Bob fans.
I would rate the books a solid 8/10 and the only few minor marks are because of the fact the books give facts rather than stories.
I hope this has been of some help.
