This is my first opinion on a book, so I had better make a good go of it. May I say now that this is quite long so please bear with me, I am very sorry. I am quite surprised that there haven’t been any other reviews written on this book already, as I distinctly remember quite a few people talking about this when I originally bought it. There were also an awful lot of adverts for it in various publications that I read at the time (Men’s Health and Men’s Fitness were two, I wasn’t allowed to read FHM, Debi wouldn’t let me). Although you wouldn’t think of it to look at me (if you ever met me that is, or I ever get ... Read the complete review

This book is about how to change your whole lifestyle for life. Bill Phillips is truly an inspirational man. I purchased this book after I saw in a Holland & Barrett magazine - a guy that had used the BFL technique to go from fat to well fit in 12 weeks. So I bought the book and read it from cover to cover (twice), and refer to it now when I am training and to give me more inspiration. You see this book is not just about eating right, and training right but it is about the complete mental, physical and spiritual change that you will go through before, during and after the 12 week programme. I bought the book. I read it ... Read the complete review

Let me start by saying that I tried Bill Phillips' 'Body for Life' method for the 12 weeks leading up to Christmas last year. I'm also in my second week of trying it again... I've been the classic "before" picture most of my life. I'm of slim build, find it very hard to build muscle and am one of those "lucky" people who can eat virtually anything they want with no fat related repercussions. I've been working out with weights on and off (mainly on) for as long as I can remember (I think I lifted my first barbell when I was 14/15) and have been a member of one gym or another since the age of about 22. ... I originally bought this book in 2000 and fully intended to take the Body For Life Challenge that was described within its pages. I didnt fulfil my intentiosn but this year I have done. I picked up the book 3 months ago and read it and re-read. I think I read it 4 times in all and on the final reading the messages that were contained within it actually clicked and it all became clear exactly what Bill says. I say Bill and not Mr.Philips as he seems to talk straight to you person to person and on first name terms. This book is not just aimed at people who want to look like Arnie or Sly Stallone, it is aimed at everyone from your 8 stone weakling to your ... Read the complete review
