Advantages: Humourous read, typically in the vain of the other Clarkson book

Disadvantages: Topical stuff dated and read one of his books you've read them all

Born to be Riled is a collection of articles written by Jeremy Clarkson, he wrote them Top Gear Magazine and the Sunday Times, so there is a good mix between car reviews and other general motoring subjects like parking, car alarms and bus lanes. In total there are 184 articles in 413 pages with no pictures or photographs, each article is 2 - 3 pages long.

This is a good book if you want a light hearted read, Jeremy can rant and rave and his ideas are over the top and silly but in the next article the observations are sharp and the arguments compelling. The articles are written tongue in cheek. Some of the articles are a commentary on his everyday life of a car journalists and shows it isn't about borrowing a fast car for a week but there is a lot of travelling and press conferences and launches to attend. This book was first published in 1999 so the topical stuff about John Prescott and the bus lane are dated, also the new cars reviewed have long since passed from the new car dealers forecourts, but if you want a book that is easy to read and then I would recommend it. I prefer to read articles and books by Jeremy Clarkson rather than watch him on the telly as I find he goes over the top on the TV.

Jeremy Clarkson has written a number of books, I know you got soul deals with the human element of machines, Motorworld is about vehicles in 11 different countries, Clarkson on Cars is a compilation of his car articles.

Summary: Light-hearted low commitment read
