Jim Hawthorne is the new head of Bishop`s Hill Academy. The school is in trouble and he has pledged to save it, not knowing that there is something evil going on. A boy is found dead, but as time goes on, it is too late to stop the terrible madness. When I read `The Church Of Dead Girls` by this author, it swiftly became one of my favourite ever novels. I did not think it was possible for him to beat it and on reading this novel, I have to say that whilst he came very close, he just could not quite manage it. His characters are excellent. Boy In The Water is the new novel by the bestselling author of The Church Of Dead Girls, Stephen Dobyns. With a similar, but more sophisticated style of writing than Stephen King, Dobyns tells the story of headmaster, Jim Hawthorne who comes to save a school for troubled teenagers from closing.
