Break In is without a doubt, the best book I have ever read. It has exiting, nearing death and tearful experiences. It features Kit Fielding (steeplechase jockey), my favourite Dick Francis character. In this novel he embarks on a mission to save his sister from a vicious stream newspaper reports. He delves into the realms of evil newspaper proprietors and thirsty for blood newspaper reporters. But, of course love finds its Francis has described with humour the current (1985) racing scene and the ways in which his characters fight with words, fists and thoughts. But while many of his fictional predecessors are loners, Kit is inextricably connected to his family by years of racing tradition and by his close, almost telepathic connection with his twin sister, Holly. Recently, Holly has disrupted family harmony by marrying Bobby Allardeck, scion of another racing clan with whom the Fieldings have had a bitter, centuries-old feud. Entreated by Holly to stop a vicious newspaper campaign seemingly designed to ruin her ...
