The edge of reason, the sequel to bridget joneses diary. In reading the book i felt i was in the company of a dear friend, someone who i could and have related to and in a sense it was like looking in a mirror. Not long into reading the edge of reason i began to agonise with bridget over the many misunderstandings between her and mr darcy and her over baring parents. Her mother not content with having an affair with julio plans a trip to kenya with una and brings back a masi mara tribes man. she also finds over friendly uncle geffory in her local with a young man! and ends up in a tiwaneese prison from which mr darcy saves her (no wonder the girl can't establish a stable relationship). All in all an hilariouse read higly recomended if you are planning a beach holiday this year. oh and of course there is the builder gary who likes fishing and is an overall dark horse.
But it left me asking one question will there be a sequel to the film as well? and the answer is that i dont know but in reading the book it would be difficult. This is because in the edge of reason, bridget decides to become a free lance journalist and lands herself an interview with colin firth (mr darcy from bbc's pride and predjadis)and this is where it becomes complicated. colin firth plays mark darcy in the film, and so if bridget was to interview colin firth as in the book then she would ineffect be interviewing mark darcy, but then agin they could always employ dramatic licence and just leave that bit out! lets hope so, in anticipation of a film sequal.

I have read both books & yes, apparently there's a film version of the second planned too.

By the way, I found your opinion a bit hard to read. Please could you space it out a bit :-)

Lets hope the sequel would be better than the first couldnt be worse! But i doubt my favoutite character would appear in it he was only in BJD for all of 20 seconds!

Welcome to Dooyoo! Hope you have as much fun here as I have been having. I had heard somewhere that they Are planning another film, although I don't know any details. This is a good first review, although I would suggest that you try to break up your text a little. It makes it a little easier to read. Wishing You Laughter, Q
