Advantages: bridgets obsessions

Disadvantages: not as funny as the first

Ok I have just finished this book so I still have it fresh in my mind (I think!)

Bridgets back and she's happy-well for now. She's still seeing Mark Darcy and all is well-or is it?

They go to a party and some drunk man starts slobbering all over her in which Mark gets the wrong impression, they're wires get crossed and predicatably they split up without ever having discussing why in true Bridget Jones fashion.

She hates her job again hates her life and the only thing holding her up are her good friends, Jude Shazzer and Tom, who are always leafing through self help books and the like giving Bridget weird and strange advice-even though they are single themselves.

Mark starts seeing a woman ( or she thinks he does) called Rebecca a rich daddy's girl who Bridget hates and whom was always after Mark.
Jude all of a sudden announces shes going to marry vile Richard her ex who always let her down and Bridget and Shazzer are furious and tell her its not on so they fall out.

Meanwhile Bridgets been talked into having an extension on her place done by builder gary who has just come and knocked a hole in her wall and left it and Bridget being Bridget just leaves it there!

Shazzer invites Bridge to go on holiday with her to thailand and this is where i suppose it starts getting a bit far-fetched.
Shazzer meets Jed on the plane over there and he gets very friendly all is well and good until Bridget and shazzer's things get stolen. Jed offers to help them out for their flight home but as Bridget is walking through customs, she gets stopped by security who find drugs in her suitcase.
She's arrested for drug smuggling and for me this whole chapter is a bit too serious for the usual flow of the story but maybe Helen Fielding thought it made a change.
Bridget eventually gets out and belive it or not is quite happy as of course she has lost some weight while being in prison-her main priority
of course!

She finds out Mark helped her out by going to Dubai and catching the bloke Jed they met on the plane who framed them, but just when things are getting relevantly back to normal at home Bridget gets a bullet posted to her with her name on it.
Mark tells her she can stay at his place and of course you can prob guess what happens but I wont ruin it by telling you the whole ending, but trust she does get things sorted out if it all is a little strange!

I preferred the first book myself I think as we got to see how bridget thinks and her obsession with weight which was funnier the first time round.
But don't give this book a miss even for the one-liners from Bridgets mother who seems as always is in a world of her own!

I think by the 2nd book the idea was getting a little tired! Good on the plot, but you don't tell us what you think! I'd like to know! But welcome back!

A good plot synopsis, but I'd have liked to hear more of your personal opinion.
