I actually do not know how to start describing the genius of David Brin. Firstly, though, he is a modern science fiction writer, whose works are among some of the most compelling and exciting books I have ever read. What makes me love David Brin is his vision. I believe that a major part of any science fiction/fantasy work is the take that it puts on the world as we know it. A good example of this is Isaac Asimov's Foundation series - when done well it can completely blow your mind.
