Dorling Kinderley publish the Childrens Symptoms medical book. This is an absolute must for any parent. This covers most of the common ailments that younger children suffer from. The book is very well written and is very user friendly. It has large pages with plenty of diagrams, checklists, do's and don'ts that make this an ideal choice. The reader is helped to make a diagnosis by way of a checklist. This indicates the most likely cause by a process of yes / no questions,eg temperature, vomiting etc. This makes it relatively easy to get a better idea of what is wrong and as to whether further assistance is necessary. This book is a handy reference guide to helping you to identify and treat a range of symptoms that your child may have at some point. At the beginning of the book are some pages on the normal anatomy and development of babies and children explained with the use of thorough diagrams and photographs. There are examples and explanations of growth charts, developmental milestones, adolescent development, weaning, healthy eating and safety. There are then a range of symptom charts which you are shown how to use at the beginning of the book.
