Following the success of the badly written, but hugely successful Da Vinci Code, a glut of books dealing with religious artefacts was published. Brotherhood of the Holy Shroud is one. Published in English in 2006, it looks at the mystery behind the Turin Shroud. Amazingly, Brotherhood of the Shroud makes the Da Vinci Code look like a great work of literature. Like its more renowned counterpart, it is pretty badly written, adopting a turgid, pedestrian style which fails to generate much sense of excitement or danger.
