I thought we had every variation of kids' book going from lift-the-flap to fold out playscene via jigsaw book until my youngest daughter received this excellent puppet book for her birthday. Published by Templar and incorporating a most satisfyingly 70's stylee shagpile orange puppet this is a truly interactive and entertaining book that is bound to please younger readers. The book comes in hardback form, with helpful instructions on the back for adults to put their hand into the puppet and "put on your best monster voice", which I duly have done many times already as we have romped our way through this 5 double page book. Calm down Boris, is a children's book that was written by Sam Lloyd and was first published in the UK in 2006 by Templar publishing. This book won the Richard & Judy award for the best book for children in 2006. I bought this book to read to my son in my local Tesco, it cost £5 but the price on the back of the book is £8.99, so was cheaper than the actual price. The first thing that attracted me to this book was the fact that it has a big orange monster on the front, the monsters mouth actually acts as a glove puppet and you have to put your hand into the puppet through the back of the book and as you are reading the book you then have to act out the ... I purchased Calm Down Boris by Sam Lloyd after reading a favourable review on DooYoo. My young son was at the time enthralled by Usborne's 'touchy feely' book That's Not My Puppy and so this seemed a perfect accompaniment. Calm Down Boris is a relatively large board book whereby Boris, the main character, is a hand puppet attached to the back page of the book itself. Each page, including the cover, has a hole for the hand puppet to peek through. At the back of the book are instructions as to how to operate the puppet inside. His jaw can be opened and shut as well as rotated 360 degrees. The book also advises that you put on your best monster voice ... Read the complete review

Calm Down, Boris! is a childrens book with the added feature of a puppet. It is a hard back book with a brilliant orange puppet monster - Boris - attached to the last page of the book. Every page has a hole, so when the book is closed, Boris is on the front cover along with the statement: "Boris is a VERY lovable monster. if only he didn't get so carried away..." As the pages are turned, Boris's head is released from the previous page and appears on the current one. This book is a definite favourite in our house and as brilliant as it is, I would warn it is not really one for bed time as it's just too lively. When reading the ... Read the complete review
