Caecilius est in horto! (Cambridge Latin Course 1 Student's Book: Level 1)
Member Name: laughingcavalier
Advantages: Easy to use Disadvantages: Well, it's still Latin, isn't it!
This is honestly the best textbook out there if you want to start learning Latin. It's been a couple of years since I stopped taking the subject, but I still remember quite a lot, and I think it's due to the quality of these books. They start you off nice and easily, with simple sentences, and then progress to stories about Caecilius and his family. It guides you through grammar and explains it in a simple way, which is really good, because we're not really used to thinking about how you should use the dative or pluperfect in English. Summary: A good beginners' book |
