Advantages: Good developed characters, a very funny book.
Disadvantages: May not be for everyone.
After just spending a considerable amount of money on some Sophie Kinsella books for my sister's birthday, I realised that I had not reviewed one or two of my favourite books by this author. From the first moment I picked up one of Sophie Kinsella books, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the book and quickly went onto read more.

The Plot
=======
The book follows Emma Corrigan, a 25 year old girl who has a boring mundane job. She wants a better job within the company and when she goes to Scotland to promote the product to another company, the meeting goes horribly wrong and she thinks her life is over.
On the way back to London, she is upgraded to business class and is sat next to an American man. The flight then hits turbulence and Emma who is scared of flying starts to panic and begins to spill all of her secrets to the stranger sitting next to her. The secrets are nothing too big to tell a stranger, like she tells her boyfriend she's a size 8 not a size 12 and that her g-string hurts. However, her secrets come back to haunt her when the stranger is actually her boss and he uses her 'secrets' to play with Emma resulting in hilarious consequences.

My Opinion
=======
The book is very funny and it is a very easy read, one of the things that I like about Sophie Kinsella is that her books are very easy to read and I think this book took me all of 2 hours to get through from cover to cover. The book is hilarious and that is one of the reasons why it is so easy to sit through, Emma has a lot of secrets and when she tells the man she thinks is a complete stranger but he actually turns out to be her boss, she finds herself in a handful of embarrassing situations.
Emma always feels like she's inferior compared to her cousin Kerry who was brought up by Emma's parents, Kerry has a high fly job and a lot of money behind her, where as Emma is in a boring job and lives in a tiny flat and just can't compete with her cousin. Jack Harper is a fantastic character throughout the book, I think if this book was ever to be made into a film this character is going to be just brilliant.
Sophie Kinsella is fantastic at writing characters that you immediately warm to, especially in my opinion, the cute sounding men in her books who all seem to have some lovely air about them. Emma is a fantastic protagonist and you from the first moment in the meeting begin to feel for her and you immediately warm to her and find yourself imagining you in her situation.

Final Opinion
========
I would only recommend this book to people who enjoy 'chick books' because that is what this book is, pure and simple. The target audience is women, however I'm sure the odd bloke who likes chick books every now and then will appreciate the comedy in this book.
I think the reason why this book worked as well as it did was the fantastic writing style of Sophie Kinsella, she really is one of the greatest chick book writers I've read in a long time.
