Advantages: Very funny

Disadvantages: Bit fluffy for some people I imagine

Another week spent travelling with work so another opportunity to read lots of books and one that I have just finished is called Can you keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella one of my favourite authors of light fluffy books.

The central character in this book is Emma Corrigan who works as an assistant in the Marketing industry for a large multi national company, whilst on a flight back to England after failing to secure a major contract Emma is fearful that the plane will crash as it hits major turbulence and she tells a whle load of secrets to the American man who is sitting next to her. some are a little embarressing while others would impact on her career and personal life. Sure enough the individual she told comes back into her life as he is the owner and founder of the company she works for.

This is an amusing read and while the central character Emma certainly has a familiar feel to her as she has a bit of the Bridget Jones about her, it is a character that women can relate to, some of the petty things that she admits to are hilariously funny and her attempts to extracate her self from the situation she finds herself in is very cleverly crafted into the story.

The characters in this book are well developed and fans of Kinsella will warm to her development of those who play an important role in Emma life and in particular the bond she has with her flat mates and friends. The writing style is fluent with good comedy timing and is very easy to read.

I found myself laughing a lot at this book, there are some great laugh out loud moments and even funnier was the fact that I caught the boyfriend reading it so now I also have a seret that I do not know whether I should keep from his mates.

Summary: Good chick lit book
