Monster - Jonathan Kellerman
by fuzzybear - written on 19/05/08 (Very useful, 76 readings)
Rating:
I like the writing style of Jonathon Kellerman and in particular I enjoy his books that feature the child psychologist Dr Alex Delaware and the Los Angeles detective Milo Sturgis. The two were originally bought together as Delaware consults on cases for the Los Angeles police and the two have built up a friendship as well as a professional relatonship. This was helped by the fact that Delaware was someone who accepted the fact that Sturgis is gay while his fellow officers did not. At the start of this book the two men are investigating the murder of a doctor at the Starkweather Institute for the Criminally Insane. The killing is similar to a brutal murder of a Hollywood ...

If you have never heard of Johnathan Kellerman before, you are missing a treat. He is the author behind the crime thriller series following Alex Delaware. Doctor Death was the first book by Kellerman I read, and it is so gripping, I have read it many times since. The focus of the book is Dr Eldon Mate, he is also given the alias of Doctor Death. This is mainly because he is the thorn in the side of the District Attorney in Los Angeles. Mate seems to be befriending travellers, and he sees it as his duty to help them on their journey down the road that ultimately leads to their death. Mate is witnessed acting in a strange manner, and even invents a machine to help with his killing, ...

Jonathan Kellerman has done it again. Created a masterpiece that you won't want to put down. He has long been one of my favourite authors - mind you I have an awful lot of them! This one makes sure he stays there. It centres around the murder of a euthanasia champion, a doctor who has helped a lot of terminally ill people escape from their pain, and say goodbye to this world when they have decided to go, not wait until the Almighty decides that for them. Obviously, this creates problems as there are quite a few people who might disagree with that so when Dr. Eldon Mate is found murdered in the back of his own 'suicide van' hooked up to his 'Humanitron ...
