Daniel Clowes is brilliant. He captures that alluring, yet disgusting side of romance. In what appears to be the same story repeated in different ways, he still manages to keep his work fresh and exciting. This is a collection of nine stories originally published in Eightball magazine and Esquire, all featuring Clowes' study of characters and flaws inherent in all of us. As always, the art is amazing. His unique style harks back to such luminaries as Robert Crumb, Art Speigelman and Chester Brown while remaining stand alone in the modern comic world, despite the vast amounts of pretenders to his mod indie comic throne.
