Having been a great lover of Sudoko puzzles in newspapers and in puzzle books for quite some time, i was looking for ways to sharpen my skills, and where better to look than Ms Vorderman, the queen of the numbers herself. The book includes a large amount of sudoko puzzles, ranging from the easy to the ridiculous and also looks at techniques and tricks that will help you solve them. The book also includes a grading system, so that you can compare your times to those of the expected times for experts and beginners, further allowing you to look at how much you need to improve to become a sudoko master. If you want a good supply of Sudoku puzzles then this book is certainly as good as any of them. It is better than some in that the grids are good and big, so you can pencil in those tiny little numbers (options) that will help you crack the harder puzzles, without needing a magnifying glass to find room for them. Of course the major selling point is that Carol teaches you everything you need to know, and takes you very methodically, indeed, from absolute basics to a very high level. I am an avid Sudoku fan. Having first seen Carol Vorderman talking about it on TV and wondering what it was all about I found a puzzle in a local newspaper and thought I would give it a go. At first it seemed hard but I kept going and eventually mastered what they called an “easy” puzzle. I was then hooked. How I wished I had known about Carol’s book but I don’t actually think it was in the shops at the time! I have now bought the book and the tips she gives for solving the puzzles are really good.
