... improve to become a sudoko master. When i was given the book, i was a moderate sudokoer (if that's a word) and usually managed the more benign newspaper offerings, but on many occassions i found myself stumped by the very difficulty of some offerings, and as such any chance to improve was most welcome. The first thing i did was to read through the teaching sections that introduced each section of puzzles and looked at tricks that will help at that level of difficulty. For me, the revelations came during the latter s...more

Premium Review Carol Vorderman's How to Do Sudoku - Carol Vorderman: Become A Sudoko Master With Ms Vorderman (375 words)

Having been a great lover of Sudoko puzzles in newspapers and in puzzle books for quite some time, i was looking for ways to sharpen my skills, and where better to look than Ms Vorderman, the queen of the numbers herself. The book includes a large amount of sudoko puzzles, ranging from the easy to the ridiculous and also looks at techniques and tricks that will help you solve them. The book also includes a grading system, so that you can compare your times to those of the expected times for experts and beginners, further allowing you to look at how much you need to improve to become a sudoko master. I am an avid Sudoku fan. Having first seen Carol Vorderman talking about it on TV and wondering what it was all about I found a puzzle in a local newspaper and thought I would give it a go. At first it seemed hard but I kept going and eventually mastered what they called an “easy” puzzle. I was then hooked. How I wished I had known about Carol’s book but I don’t actually think it was in the shops at the time! I have now bought the book and the tips she gives for solving the puzzles are really good. She takes you right from the novice stage to expert. She explains the puzzles in a simple way so that you can understand the way the puzzle is ...  Read the complete review
