CASH THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY is the title of legendary American singer Johnny Cash. The book contains many chaoters and has 318 pages. Cash talks about his childhood and what it was like growing up in Southern America. It's great the way Cash talks about his homeland as he feels really pasionate about it with the storys often having a sense of humour. In a heartfelt section of the book Cash describes the death of his brother after a accident involving farm machinery. It's obvious that this had a devastating effect on the singer and encouraged him to do well in the music business. Johnny Cash's life story made Hollywood stand up and notice recently with Walk the Line, this book is Cash's autobiography and was the inspiration for that film. While the film only concentrated on Cash's life and career up to his San Quentin prison album, the book flits between the present and past as well as telling the story behind the music. With Cash's familiar southern drawl and clever observations on his own life the book is a good autobiography. Its quite brisk at 318 or so pages but I suppose if you wanted a more detailed bio then this probably isn't it.
