Most authors who choose a main character, and write a series of books about them with success, ultimately attempt to bring back a villain to provide extra continuity and to give their heroes an already established reason for personal pursuit. The same is the case with Cat and Mouse from Patterson, and in a bold move, he also introduces to us a further hero - the potentially excellent Thomas Pierce, FBI legend. The results will blow you away! Detective Alex Cross once more finds himself hot on the heels of Gary Soneji, the abductor from Patterson's first Cross book, Along Came A Spider.
