Advantages: Good quaility, lovely floral designs, great for writing.

Disadvantages: A little expensive compared to others.

I will admit then when it comes to Cath Kidston products I'm not a huge fan of the usual bags and purses but the stationary items are beautiful. I own several Cath Kidston notebooks and journals but this one is my favourite. I bought mine for £6.90 from Amazon although it can also be purchased for £10 from House of Frazier and Waterstones and can often be found on Ebay for anything between £5 and £10.

This A5 sized hardback notebook has a beautiful floral pattern on the front and back, it has a light blue background which shows pink and blue flowers on their brown branches with plenty of green leaves coming off them too. There's six bunches on the front and a further six on the back printed on this fabric hard cover. The spine is pink and shows the Cath Kidston name and logo as well as 'notebook' written along the side. It has a very elegant and retro feel to it which is just lovely and very high quality.

The inside front and back cover displays a light pink and white polka dot design with the inside back cover displaying all the copyright and publishing information in a beautiful white 'cloud' which has an old book feel to it. There are 72 doubled sided lined pages within the notebook each presented with a different border staying true that that typical Cath Kidston floral design. The pages are thick and clearly of high quality, pen never leaks through to the other side so you're free to use all 144 writing pages. Each page has twenty four lines which are quite closely spaced together so this may be problematic for those with large handwriting although I find them to be perfect and allow for more to written on a single A5 sheet of paper, I can typically fit about 120 words on each page.

I do a lot of writing and unless I'm doing an actual piece of work which needs to be submitted somewhere I prefer to use pen and paper instead of my laptop. I use my notebook to complete writing exercising, jot down ideas as they come to me or even to just write down what's annoying me so I get it off my chest! This notebook allows me to do all of those things on pretty pages which actually helps me produce better writing. When using a cheap 20p notepad I've picked up from a supermarket I tend do just scribble illegible scrawls across the page which makes it a nightmare when I come to look over what I've written. When using a nice notebook like this one I tend to do everything much neater, put more thought and care into the writing and organise it a lot better.

I take my notebook everywhere with me so I can write whenever the moment takes me and the hardback cover provides protection for my pages of written of work when the notebook is in my bag. I don't have to worry about anything ripping or becoming scrunched up into little balls (which has happened many times when I've carried a cheap notebook around with me)!

I love this notebook and feel the extra money is completely worth it if you're going to get a lot of use out of such a thing. Notebooks are quite important to me so I like a good quality and decent one and this one from Cath Kidston is definitely just that.

Summary: My favourite notebook, perfect for jotting down all of my ideas.
