Chained together (Chain Letter - Christopher Pike)
Member Name: Enola
Advantages: Is fiction Disadvantages: Creepy and, in some bits gory
I bought this book on impulse years ago. I have been involved in chain letters before but none as traumatising as this one. For this was one which would bring severe bad luck to those who did not continue the chain. And continuing the chain was not just a simple matter of copying it out six times and sending to six friends. This demanded that the teenagers involved perform certain tasks. These started off as things like slagging off the teachers to their faces but later progressed (in the sequel)to things like burning their sister's entire arm. Failure to perform these tasks led to little accidents and, in some cases, death. A good read (if a teenage one) but not something I'd recommend to someone who 'Did something last summer', as it follows the basic storyline of that film. It doesn't exactly have a happy ending but one which can be described as refreshing. All in all a good book. Summary: |
