If you are a keen Scrabble player and an argumentative sort then this book is for you. Scrabble, in my opinion, is a fantastic game. Intellectual, competitive, satisfying and frustrating and can be played at any age. It is an awful game if players of varying skill get together but if two players on the same sort of level play then the games can be gripping and tense. Unusually for me, I bought this in hardback, and it's been worth every penny of the rather extortionate £15 purchase price. It solves (almost completely) all the arguments that seem to come with Scrabble ("Aa? That's not a word!" "Yes it is! It's a type of lava!" "Yeah, right. And I'm a baboon..." etc.) - I don't know about you, but when I play, someone usually has something they swear is a word, but it's not in our feeble pocket dictionary (spellcheckers have a lot to answer for in terms of dictionary ownership rates).
