Advantages: Great author, funny, all time classic kids story, great film too

Disadvantages: None!

I love all Roald Dahl books, and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory is one of my favourites. The story is based on a boy called Charlie Bucket who is very poor and lives with his mum and 2 sets of grandparents all in a tiny house. The 4 grandparents all sleep in the same bed, which is hilarious! Also, they all eat some awful watered-down soup stuff! Anyway, Willy Wonka chocolate bars have the chance of winning a golden ticket to take a tour around the Willa Wonka factory, and Willy Wonka has placed just 5 golden tickets in chocolate bars around the world. So it is absolutely brilliant how all kids are dying to win a golden ticket, and shops everywhere are selling out of Willy WOnka chocolate as a result. Anyway, the 5 children who win are all VERY eccentric apart from Charlie who is the most down-to-earth one, and both the book and the film are very funny. You HAVE to get this book and see the film ASAP, as it's an all-time classic and is truly excellent!

I don't think you can ever be too old to enjoy a book by Roald Dahl, Matilda is a favorite of mine.
