... Chocolate factory and once again was very comical and easy to read. It is about Charlie being taken up in flying lift depicted also at the end of the top-class original film, it is very exciting and can be describes as a suspense story. The first 20 pages or so dragged a bit, but you never start off purely in the action, the story was really enjoyable. In the Great Glass Elevator, they go flying around the world, or that is what is supposed to happen, but they end up going higher and higher until they end up flying all around space. When they get in to space, they end up getting on to this spaceship, which has a hotel and that is where they stay. Hope you enjoy the book like I have done there is no film to this one unlike Charlie's Chocolate Factory. I think this book is for about six year old and upwards because younger than that and they may not ...  Read the complete review

Following on from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, this again is a very amusing tale of the continuing adventures of Charlie and Mr Wonka after their tour of the amazing chocolate factory. In particular, the story revolves around Mr Wonka's amazing Glass Elevator. Dahl again shows mastery when it comes to writing down a creative imagination, in a form for children to enjoy. A fitting sequel to the adventures in the chocolate factory, this is an easy and enjoyable read. ...  Read the complete review
