This was one of Alcott's earliest novels but it was deemed to be too provocative and daring, hence was never printed in her lifetime. The novel has now been editted and published but still retains the original work of Alcott. The story is about Rosamond Vivien, a young girl who has been living all her life in recluse with her grandfather in the coast of England. Rose is very passionate, lively and daring, she yearns to see the world and to be free to her hearts content.
