Checkmate at Chess City Set - Piers Harper

I bought a copy of Checkmate at Chess City for my 6 year old daughter as she recently expressed a desire to learn how to play chess. My husband and son are both good chess players and although they were keen to teach her, neither of them could explain the basics in a fun and encouraging way, so I went online in search of resources that would appeal to a novice.
