After reading and enjoying "Pies and Prejudice" by Stuart Maconie, I decided to read this earlier book of his, which was trailed in his more recent one. "Cider with Roadies" takes its title from a play on words from one of Maconie's favourite books Lawrie Lee's "Cider with Rosie", as he states in the introduction to this memoir. For this is a memoir with humour, which follows Maconie's life through his love affair with music. Granted, he has a fantastic story to tell of seeing the Beatles live. How can this be?
