Batman: Man Who Laughs - Ed Brubaker
by SWSt - written on 08/06/09 (Very useful, 43 readings)
Rating:
to look at this book is that you are getting an excellent story and one of the best tales featuring the villain for some time. The second story is just a small bonus. Adequate, but just a little inconsequential and forgettable. Either way, on the strength of The Man Who Laughs alone, this is a worthy addition to the shelves of any comic lover. Basic Information The Man Who Laughs Ed Brubaker, Doug Mahnke, Patrick Zircher Titan Books, 2008 ISBN: 978-1845767242 (hardback) © Copyright SWSt ...

Daredevil: Devil, Inside and Out Volume 2 -Ed Brubaker
by GundamMeister - written on 31/01/08 (Useful, 53 readings)
Rating:
Brubaker's run on Daredevil started with a whizz and a bang. Unfortunately there are a few problems with this second volume.(collecting issues 88-93 of Daredevil) It opens with a one shot that doesn't feature Daredevil, but his one time partner Foggy, thought to be dead at the end of the last volume. Daredevil has fled the country in the wake of all the fracas in the last volume and Foggy is wondering what has happened to him. Although this issue contains the rquisite ninja action to keep anyone amused, it feels a little like filler rather than the satirical fun of, say Miller's Foggy stories. The main Daredevil action itself is a little disappointing too - Daredevil runs ...

Captain America Omnibus - Ed Brubaker
by GundamMeister - written on 10/01/08 (Very useful, 35 readings)
Rating:
d expect in most cases for these not to sell all that well, people having already bought the comic or the associated graphic novel already. Who the hell is Ed Brubaker then and why are marvel making such a big deal about this particularly run on Captain America. Well, Ed Brubaker is a young Noir obsessed American who hasn t so much changed the face of comic book story-witing but who has an uncanny knack for doing what few writers at the moment can - make comics fast paced, entertaining and exciting. You ll get nothing too deep from Ed, for sure but if you like your comic raw and in your face then he s your man. Put simply, he s marvel s latest talent who has taken ...
