Entertaining female PI tale in the style of Grafton and Paretsky, only this time the protagonist, Kate Brannigan, is a Brit based in the Leeds/Bradford area (nice to see the temptation to focus on London resisted!). She's arranged the security for a stately home, and is less than impressed when it's breached and a valuable painting taken. The hunt for it takes her around Europe, on the trail of big league organized crime. A fun novel, light, easily devourable in a session. Not going to impact your life much, but a perfect commute or holiday read. There are a number of other Brannigan novels in the series if this takes your fancy! ... Read the complete review
