At the bottom are several questions to test yourself on with the answers being found at the back. Bright colours are a necessity as well as plenty of colourful diagrams. Crowned Review Co-ordination Group Publications: Brilliant Revision Aids (1194 words)
by - written on 21/11/08 (Very useful, 253 readings)
Rating:

I recently needed to brush up on my GCSE knowledge of maths and science. As I've not really studied either of these subjects since my GCSE days about seven years ago now I knew that I needed some sort of miracle. However my mum reminded me about a box full of revision materials from my time at high school so I decided to have a little root to see if there was anything helpful. I came across several text books before pulling out a Coordination Group Publication and I knew that I might just have found my miracle. These books were an absolute godsend during my GCSEs and really helped me with revision, far more than any other books I had at the time. I quickly ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review A* in my book! (966 words)

Since 1995 CGP have been making revision guides for GCSE pupils. At last someone had recognised the need for quality revision material at a budget cost. I had the whole collection by the time my GCSE’s grew near and I don’t doubt it was them that ensured I passed all 10 of my exams. But what sets them aside from the rest? ~ ~Concept~ ~ The main idea of Richard Parsons (founder of the group and editor of practically every publication) was to create a fun to read and understand revision guide to both keep kids entertained and also help them learn. He has definitely achieved this. The books are very easy to understand and they certainly held my ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Co-ordination Group Publications: CGP: Clearly Great People make these books! (1007 words)

Revision can often be boring, dull and tedious. Having to sort through endless notes and boring revision guides just adds to the problem. Let's face it, revision is boring. Right? Well I agree to a certain extent but CGP guides make revision a little easier and less dull. ~ So, what are CGP guides? ~ CGP stands for Coordination Group Publications. They are a company which produce revision guides from KS1 (aged 5-7) to A-level (aged 16-18.) They also have a range of practice papers for Scottish and Adult education. They also have Welsh revision guides. I first started using CGP books when I was in year 9. At this time we only used them in ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Co-ordinating Grade Increases (864 words)

Although at times I’m told I look like a 16 year old, believe it or not I’m not one. And, being a 19 year old 2nd year uni student, you might think I’d have no use for text books aimed at GCSE students… but you’d be wrong. The Co-ordination group was set up a few years ago just before I sat my GCSEs. Our Biology department bought a bunch of their books for us as additional texts, and I thought they were so good (and cheap at about £3 each) that I went out and bought the lot. Now in those days they only had Chemistry, Physics and Maths versions (plus Biology of course) but still, to get me to buy 3 new text books for exams that would ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Co-ordination Group Publications: Hey everybody, it's fun to learn! (206 words)
by - written on 19/12/00 (Useful, 35 readings)

I have six of these fantastic revision guides and I'm getting another soon, and I swear I would be stranded without some of them. I got through my KS3 science with one of these. I spent most of the year talking in class and beimg a general slacker, but I made it out of the exams with a level 7 (two levels above average - woo hoo!). I'd love to claim it was because I'm so amazingly intelligent, but I don't like to lie. The science revision guide saved my life! They are written with a lively tone, full of loads of pictures and diagrams, colourful writing and ridiculous jokes. I hate to say it, but they really do make learning fun! And all of ...  Read the complete review
