It took me ages to choose this book. I wanted something cool and snappy, with a hint of Irving Welsh's narrative style, something interesting and now, and that's what I got. As a 27 year old who did the illegal rave parties in the late 80's early 90's, I can totally relate to Bay, the main character of the book. His dad could be me (if I was older and a bloke), what I mean is that I can relate well to Bay, to his slightly too cock-sure and seemingly mature for their age friends, Alita and Tay and especially to his awkward dad stuck in a bizarre clubbers time-warp. Branton's writing style is compelling and witty. Parts made me laugh out ...

When you was a child and got in trouble, it was always your parents that bailed you out right? they were always there ready to stand up for you because you're their child, but what if you got in deep trouble and knew there were some big-time criminals out on the hunt for you, what if you realised those big-time criminals were your parents, I know its a different opening, but this is the kind of question that this book has brought up.
