One of the presents my daughter received for her recent birthday was this amusingly titled paperback book. Once I had got over my (very immature) sniggering at the title and we got down to the nitty gritty of actually reading the book a million times a day I grew to really enjoy it, and it is one of my favourite stories to read to my toddler (although a good part of this is the fact that it is very short and easy to read!) ***The Author*** An Amazon.co.uk search on Juliet Dallas-Conte brings up this book and a Nigel Slater cookbook, so this is a first time children’s book author. Macmillan (the publishers) have little to add on their ... Read the complete review

Cock a Moo Moo is a very simple but delightful picture story book that I feel sure that most young children will absolutely love. He is so confused that he comes out with all different variations of 'cock a doodle doo' using the other animals' sounds but none of them are right. All of the farmyard animals tell him that he is getting it wrong and he is very silly - all of which make hime rather sad! We got this book free as part of a Bookstart pack, but you can get it for £4.49 from Amazon. It's well worth the money. My youngest child started enjoying this book at about 9 months, and my oldest still loves it aged 4. It's about a cockerel who forgets how to crow, and starts to make the sounds of other animals in the farmyard. It's great for teaching your children animal noises, such as cow, pig, sheep etc. Also you can talk about the different animals on the farm and where they live. It's an amusing story with a happy ending. The illustrations are bright and eye catching, with absolutely fabulous expressions on the animals faces. With an older ... Read the complete review
