Having read and thoroughly enjoyed all the Shopaholic books by Sophie Kinsella I was pleased to find that her real name is actually Madeleine Wickham and she has written several books under this name which opened up more books for me to read from this excellent author. She explains on the front page of the book that she chose to write under the name Sophie Kinsella to reflect the different style of writing from her previous books. This story is centred on three best friends who all work for the same magazine called The Londoner. They meet up on the first of each month in the Manhattan Cocktail bar to catch up on all the latest news in each others lives and generally have a good night out together. Maggie Phillips is the editor of the magazine, married to a rich man and she's just about to go on maternity leave and live in a huge house in the country away from the hustle and bustle of London. Candice, Maggie and Roxanne are three successful and stylish women who all work for a magazine called “The Londoner”. Although the very best of friends, they are each very different in their personalities and outlook on life. Candice is warm, kind and trusting, possibly even too trusting. Maggie, the magazine’s editor, is an achiever, a high-flyer, dedicated and focussed. Roxanne, glamorous, stylish and chic, is in love with a married man, who may or may not adore her. Whatever happens in their lives, these three women are the very best of friends and nothing or no one will ever destroy their friendship, their sisterhood. Or so they think. ... I got this book after loving all of Sophie Kinsella's books and finding out that Madeline Wickham is the same person! Brilliant I thought now another whole set of books I can read and hopefully enjoy. Well I wasn't disappointed, Cocktails For Three is a fantastic read. This book as the name suggests is about 3 friends who live very different lives all working in the magazine industry. Every month they meet in a cocktail bar to catch up on all the gossip whilst enjoying their favourite cocktails. The 3 women are very different characters and each has a very individual prsonality. Maggie is the first of the 3, she is pregnant and so the meeting at the ... Read the complete review
