This is the first Linda La Plante book i read and was totally unaware that is was the second book of a trilogy. This storey is about a woman called Lorraine Page. The book gives a few details about her past and you can guess from this that she has had a pretty rough ride. She is a recovering alcoholic and lives with another recovering alcoholic who go to AA meetings together. Lorraine decides to open her own private investigation agency. Her first case is to find the missing daughter of a Hollywood movie star. The investigation to find Anna Louise dead or alive takes a voodoo twist. I discovered Lynda La Plante's books quite by accident, although I watched the Tv sequels. I found 'She's out' in a second hand book shop and have been addicted ever since. Cold Blood is a fairly chunky book, but don't be put off. She's an excellent writer who captures you on the first page. The story line revolves around a rich teenage girl that goes missing. A typical run of the mill theme for many books but not this one. The plot thickens and broadens to cover alcoholics, drug addicts, private investigators but with a heavy accent of Black Magic.
