Advantages: Fantastic read
Disadvantages: Be aware that this is the second of three books.
This is the first Linda La Plante book i read and was totally unaware that is was the second book of a trilogy.
This storey is about a woman called Lorraine Page. The book gives a few details about her past and you can guess from this that she has had a pretty rough ride. She is a recovering alcoholic and lives with another recovering alcoholic who go to AA meetings together. Lorraine decides to open her own private investigation agency. Her first case is to find the missing daughter of a Hollywood movie star. The investigation to find Anna Louise dead or alive takes a voodoo twist. In her desperation to succeed in her first case, Lorraine gets caught up in deceit and violence that threatens to drag her back down to the ugly depths of the world that she has fought so hard to escape. But does she find Anna Louise dead or alive???
I was unable to put this book down, it had me gripped from beginning to end, i just did not want the storey to end. When i found out it was the middle of three books about Lorraine Page i just had to go out n read them. The first book is all about her life before she is a private investigator and makes everything in Cold Blood fall right into place. I would absolutely recommend this book and give it 10 out of 10, but i do suggest you read Cold Shoulder first and the other two books will make a lot more sense.
Summary: Brave story about a woman called Lorraine Page.
