      An interesting read!

One of my favourite things to do is browse charity shops for books. I have been doing a lot of this recently, and so my 'to read' pile of books just seems to be getting taller and taller. One book which I recently read is this book, the autobiography of Weather Girl and Loose Woman, Andrea McClean. Confessions of A Good Girl was released in the United Kingdom in 2011. I actually have the 'updated' version, which was re-released in 2012 and cost me just 50p in my local charity shop.

I definitely learned a lot about Andrea in this book. Despite being a household name in Britain, I didn't really know that much about her, so I was really surprised to learn that she had grown up in the Caribbean. She has certainly led an interesting and action packed life.

Andrea does come across as being really genuine and down to earth and seems like a really nice person. She seems really friendly and I felt as though I really got to know her as she just comes across as being 'normal'. She was very honest and open in this book. She is very easy to relate to and so I think that is why she is liked so much, as people can connect to her. As I was reading the book, I could hear Andrea's voice in my head telling me the story herself.

To me, Andrea always comes across as being 'perfect'; she's just one of those people and so I was really shocked to discover that she has actually had a really hard time these last few years and her life has been far from perfect. I did feel really sorry for Andrea in this book, however I also felt a little bit irritated as she came across as being a bit 'poor me' which I did find a bit annoying, especially as the book went on and her 'poor me' attitude got even worse! Sorry Andrea! I did feel sorry for her though.

At the end of the book, it states that Andrea actually wrote this book herself; word for word, which I find to be very impressive. I had assumed, like all other celebrities, she would have hired a ghost-writer, but she wrote this herself. So well done Andrea.

      I would recommend this book!

      Thanks for reading!
