Even for a TV tie-in, this feels like a quick read. But at least it’s mostly text. There are moments where you might almost hear the characters speak. However, a disappointment is that even though the fictional Sanders’ supposedly egotistical musings on his career are ridiculously self-revealing, there is still very little of the sharply written dialogue characteristic of the Sanders shows. It doesn’t begin so well, but once you get the feel of it the very amusing highlights start to appear. Readers who barely know the TV show might appreciate the build-up, but the character of the book is like that of the Sanders persona ...
