In 5th year at school one of the subjects i took was higher geography and this was the main textbook the teacher used.The book is perfect for higher geography because it has been written specifically for higher and covers the eight core topics you must know in detail.

Price-From £9.50 on Amazon but most schools supply this so it doesn't need to be bought.

The book is split into two main sections which are physical geography and human geography.Physical geography has sections on the atmosphere,the hydrosphere and the lithosphere.The other section has information on population , rural , industrial and urban geography.
Each section is really detailed and has recommended books where you can read more if you want but to be honest the textbook has most of the information you need.The whole thing is easy to follow and has loads of diagrams, maps and pictures .There is also a checklist in each section which states clearly what what you need to know and be able to do.
The only thing i didn't like about the book is that although there are questions for you to test your knowledge there are no answers

Overall a book you must have if doing higher geography!
