Cornwells a creative genius (Patricia Cornwell in general)

Advantages: gets you involved in the story Disadvantages: none!!
I was first introduced to Patricia Cornwell two years ago when I met my boyfriend. He had been reading the books for a few years, and as I was stuck for a new read he suggested I divuldge into the world of Dr Kay Scarpetta. Cornwell has a magnificant way of writing that really gets the reader involved in the story. She is very graphic and technical, whilst still explaining everything, so you always know what is going on. Although the Scarpetta series is written in the first person, it was not difficult to read, and gave a better emphasis on the feelings that Cornwell wanted to show. Dr Scarpetta is the chief medical examiner in Richmond, and with the help of collegues (mostly a police officer named marino) and her niece Lucy, she becomes involved , and usually solves, big time crimes in the city. Cornwell has a brilliant way of twisting the storylines in a way that wouldnt be guessed by the reader, which just makes the books even better to read. I have just finished reading the final book, The Last Precinct, and although it was good, I did find it slightly slower that other books - Black Notice, The Body Farm and Unusual Suspect are exceptionally good. I would most definately recomend this author to anyone who enjoys a brilliant read and who has plenty of time on their hands - I guarantee once you pick up a book, you will not put it down until you get to the end, however, try to read the books in order as they really are all interlinked.
