Count Zero - William Gibson

Count Zero is a great story and a great follow up to Neuromancer it follows the progress of a series of seemingly unrelated protagonists, Turner a man of action who is basically a very aggressive recruitment consultant, Bobby Numark (read No mark) who gets himself onvolved with a very weird crowd, a girl searching for the producer of art so simple it is worth a fortune. This book builds to a massive tempo as the forces meet and the dark mystery parts to reveal a darker enigma beneath. Count Zero is set in the same world as William Gibson's 1984 sci-fi classic Neuromancer, several years on. Bobby Numark (Count Zero) himself is a teenage wannabe hacker, using the 'consensual hallucination' of the Matrix. In Gibson's world, the Net is rendered as a three-dimensional virtual reality, a universe of light and shadow representing the flow of information on which mankind depends.
