chlozay Angels and Demons - Dan Brown
... amazing, compelling story that keeps you hooked until the last page. Dan Brown has a flair for historical accuracy and true facts, keeping the reader engaged. I have no qualms in saying this is my favourite book I have ever read. This book is fast paced and will not bore you. I would say that it is actually better than Dan Brown s best seller, "The DaVinci Code". So, for those that are seeking your next read by this author, I highly recommend this one. This is also true because Angels and Demons is infact the first in the Robert Langdon series, so the reader can follow the first journey of our favourite American Lecturer. Dan Brown s depth into research fo...

burtybookworm Too Close to Home - Linwood Barclay
... may have missed this book if you have been looking at best sellers lists - I know I overlooked it a c couple of times purely because the cover is so very similar to that of Linwood Barclays previous book "No Time For Goodbyes." However, my mum gave me this copy and only after reading the back did I realise it was something different entirely! This story is about a family who live next door (or rather, up the road a bit!) to a mother, father and son that get murdered one night. The Cutter family are definitely spooked by the events that unfolded when the family next door are gunned down for no apparent reason; 17 year old Derek Cutter even more so as he was...

song_of_calliope A Pocket Full of Rye - Agatha Christie
... sick this week with nothing to do, I was in search of a little light reading that wouldn t strain my achey head too much. Agatha Christie turned out to be just the ticket. Agatha Christie seems to have an affinity for nursery rhymes. The last book of hers that I read, Ten Little Indians, used one to great effect, as did this book. Sing a Song of Sixpence starts off with a pocket full of rye, as does this book. And it goes quickly downhill from there for the characters of both the nursery rhyme and the book. The king, Rex Fortescue, is found dead in his counting house, i.e. his office. We are quickly surrounded by a whole host of possible assassins, starting wi...
