Self-Defence - Jonathan Kellerman ... is another book to feature the pairing of Los Angeles based Dr Alex Delaware and LA homicide detective Milo Sturgis. Delaware ispecialises as a child psychologist who no longer takes on patients directly instead he consults on legal cases and also works as a part time consultant for the police on their criminal investigations. Sturgis is a close friend of his who is somewhat ostracised by the homophobic officers he has to work with.
