The Lost Symbol - Dan Brown:
... is the first book written by Dan Brown that I have read and I am so glad i did. I have seen movie for the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons but thats it, I decided to buy this book as it was a best seller so thought I would give it a go. From about the third chapter in, I found I couldnt put it down. The plot is that a Havard lecturer (Robert Langdon) is tricked into flying to Washington, thinking he is the... Darkly Dreaming Dexter - Jeff Lindsay ... Having decided that I needed some more books to read I consulted the charity book list at work (books for the bargain price of 25p) and came across "Darkly Dreaming Dexter". I was aware that there is a TV series called "Dexter", so consulted Amazon to see if this was the same thing, and found that it was! I haven t ever seen the TV programme but have heard good things about it and decided to give the book a go, as I d found that "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" was the first in the series (I didn t want to come in having missed something) which is what the first series of the TV programme was based upon. -Jeff Lindsay- The author Jeff Lin... The Quest - Wilbur Smith ... lets start at the top; River God has to be in my top 3 reads. It is the book that introduced me to Wilbur Smith. I have not read anything like it since, I though the characterization and monumental events in ancient Egypt were captured brilliantly. I re-read year after year, and it still gets-me every time as if reading afresh. Next in the series: The Seventh Scroll fast forward 5000 years and we follow the modern day adventure tracking Taita s conquests. A very novel approach (pun intended) to a sequel several millennia apart. It buckled my swash as a hearty swashbuckler and I thoroughly enjoyed. Moving on to #3; Warlock, back to ancient Egypt and although I sti... Read the full review: QUESTioning my loyalty to Wilbur by wilco121 |

Still Bleeding - Steve Mosby ... read Steve Mosby s debut The Third Person a few years ago and was impressed with his writing and with his imagination. Sadly, he seemed to have too many ideas for that book and in trying to make them all fit into the story, things got a little cluttered. He s now on his fifth book, which suggests he s doing something right, so he deserves a second chance. Alex Connor has been trying to negate the memory of his wife s suicide by running away. He s left all his friends behind and has barely been in touch with them for years. But now Sarah, one of his closest friends, has been murdered and the prime suspect is her partner, Alex s brother James. For Alex, this is ...
