Don`t be put off by the appallingly garish covers of the U.K. editions.I was for years and am now kicking myself for not trusting my previous knowledge about Harry Turtledoves writing!If you manage to acquire the original Del Rey they have much better covers without a Lizard in site to put you off!I only bought them after being recommended to the series by the staff of Bakka Science-Fiction Bookstore in Toronto. alternate history works. I also love harry harrison who writes similar work. It is either going to be hit or miss with you and Turtledove, either you have a mind that wanders into countless what if scenarios everytime you read history or current events or you have a mind that discounts fantasy as a medium for conscious growth. You can get professional summaries and reviews of Turtledove off of Amazon and I won't begin to mettle in that stuff, I just wished someone had told me the man existed years ago.
