***Background*** This book is both written and illustrated by Colin McNaughton, and is all about a cheeky little cow called Cushie Butterfield. There is also the follow up book called What Now Cushie Butterfield and you can read about that one in my other review. This book was a present to my daughter from her teacher on the last day of Primary 1. Cushie Butterfield is a cow who is feeling rather sickly, far too sick for school! Everyone can see how sick she is as she lies on her bed. It’s Monday morning and she has huge red spots all over her face…..Tuesday morning and her face is covered in Green checks….and so on and on with different “illnesses” until she gets Saturday morning and suddenly feels much better and off she goes out to play.
