Advantages: All action, accurate writing

Disadvantages: Dialogue not great

I've been reading Clive Cussler for years now. My favourite series has been the Dirk Pitt novels. They are no holds bared action adventure, using Cussler's knowledge and passion of all things marine to create some brilliantly captivating reads.

Don't get me wrong, he is not the best writer. His depiction of women is often shocking, the dialogue is often wooden and unconvincing but none of that matters. He isn't trying to win a Pulitzer Prize, he just wants to share his ove ina nentertaining way. And he does it, and does it with some brilliant descriptive writing. The stories never slows down and I love them. They will entertain that young boy in you even when you are 50!

There are other series of books written by Cussler and his son, and there are other collaborations to. The Oregon Files are about a crew of mercernaries with lots of money, and the Kirt Austin novels are pretty much the same as the Dirk Pitt, but still worth a read.

Summary: Definately Worth Reading
