I'm not one for reading if I'm honest but my mum is and I'm often curious to give her selection of books a go but have never been tempted enough just by looking at the covers. My mum suggested I read this one though as it 'made her cry' and I was a little puzzled as to how a book of this length with no pictures could make someone show an emotion such as sadness as well as shed actual tears. Cut, is written by Cathy Glass a foster carer of twenty years who is also the author of No.1 Bestseller Damaged and Hidden. Cathy has fostered over 50 children from all backgrounds and various ages and has aimed to write her books to give us an insight into foster caring ... Read the complete review

Cut is the third book from best selling author Cathy Glass. Cathy is a foster carer and has been fostering for over twenty years and fostered over fifty children so I am sure she could write dozens of books on her experiences! I have previously read Cathy's previous two novels 'Damaged' and 'Hidden' and found these a compelling read so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed with this book. All Cathy's books are based on real life events and true stories based on children she has fostered. Cut is based on the story of a thirteen year old girl called Dawn. Dawn appears to be a very polite and helpful girl. Cathy was given no background information on this child by ... Read the complete review

As a Cathy Glass fan I have read all her books ( this being the third) and what a book. I this book it tells the story of Dawn a young girl with a past she can't remember. Although this is Cathy's third book it describes the story of the first child Cathy first fostered. On the first night of Dawn's stay Cathy awakes to find Dawn standing over her newborns cot, only to find dawn is sleep walking. After several reoccurances of this Cathy then realises that Dawn has suffered a disturbing childhood. This is then confirmed by Cathy waking to find Dawn in her kitchen (sleep walking) striking a match saying it wasn't her fault. This like all ... Read the complete review

I am a big fan of Cathy Glass and have read her other two books Damaged and Hidden, so i just had to read Cut. I can tell you that i was not disappointed. This book was just as good as her other two, and she maintains to write in a way that makes you connect to the characters and feel like you know them. As in her other books you can feel the warmth, support and affection she gives all her children, weather or not they are biological or fostered. This third book is about a young girl called Dawn and she was the first child Cathy ever fostered. This little girl has been abandoned and abused and all she longed for was to be part of a loving family. Cathy finds ... Read the complete review
