Second book in the Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts does not disappoint and sees the coming together of Blair the tough and funky vampire slayer and Larkin the sexy shapeshifter. Obviously I would recommend reading the first book 'Morrigan's Cross' before you even go near this one, as it follows on right where we left the circle of 6 in modern day Ireland, preparing for the impending war in Gaull (another world) against the evil Vampire Queen Lilith. We learn more about Guall, and the background of the Vampire slaying family Blair, Hoyt and Cian all belong too.
As with the first book, expect steamy sex scenes, love, violance, gore and action blended with quick witted humour and an innovative and mystical storyline. Comes complete with glossary of irish terms to help your understanding of the endearments the characters use.

Really enjoyed this book, a wonderful and exciting story filled with magic and surprises!
